Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are vital to our organization. Their commitment and generosity support us in helping families prosper through our adult literacy and family literacy programs.

We offer a number of meaningful opportunities to volunteer in the Edmonton area. We provide free training for all of our volunteers.

  • Set goals with your learner and prepare lessons to meet their individual needs and interests
  • Provide encouragement and support to help increase both skills and confidence
  • Previous experience as a tutor is not required

Time Commitment:

  • Tutors and learners meet at a date, time, and safe public location that is convenient for both people, or by scheduled distance learning
  • A minimum of 3 months with at least 1 hour per week spent tutoring over the course of the 3 months
  • This volunteer role may occur weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends as chosen by the volunteer
