Meet Beanie the Bookworm – our new mascot!
We discovered Beanie living in our library, cozied up between the pages of the books! Now, Beanie is ready to wriggle out and help us spread the joy of reading and learning.
As our official mascot, Beanie will be around to share fun literacy activities, helpful resources, and tips to help families thrive. Keep an eye out for Beanie at events, in programs, on social media, and maybe even around town.
Beanie loves living among the books at CFL, gardening, and curling up with a good book. But most importantly, Beanie loves to help transform lives through literacy.
Let’s give Beanie a warm welcome as we start this new chapter together!
Beanie’s Quest Continues!
Thank you to everyone who joined Beanie the Bookworm on the quest to celebrate the Centre for Family Literacy’s 25th Anniversary!
The first chapter of Beanie’s Quest – including the prize draw – has officially wrapped up. We had an amazing time exploring, learning, and celebrating literacy with you!
But Beanie’s adventure isn’t over – it’s just getting started, and now it’s your turn to lead the way! Here’s how to keep the quest going:
🕵️♂️ Find a Beanie figurine hidden in a public location (follow our social media for hints!)
🚶♂️ Move Beanie to a new, fun, and safe public spot for someone else to discover
📸 Snap a photo with Beanie at the new location
📱 Post the photo on social media, tag the Centre for Family Literacy, and tell us where Beanie is now – either share the exact location or drop a clever clue to keep the adventure alive!
Let’s keep the spirit of literacy, learning, and exploration going strong.

Join Beanie’s Quest (Ended May 1st)
To celebrate our 25th anniversary, Beanie is off on a quest to spread the love of reading and learning – and we want YOU to join in the fun!

📚 Complete fun activities—as many as you want!
If you can’t find Beanie, don’t worry! You can still join the quest virtually on the link HERE.
The more activities you finish, the more chances you have to win! The quest ends on April 30th, and we’ll announce the lucky winner on the Centre’s social media pages on May 1st!
