Postal Strike: Help Us Continue Serving Albertans

On Friday, November 15, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers launched a national strike, halting mail and parcel delivery services and closing many Canada Post locations.

Direct mail is a critical part of our fundraising efforts, especially during the giving season, when a significant portion of our annual revenue is raised. This year, the postal strike threatens to disrupt our ability to secure essential donations for 2024. This challenge comes at a particularly tough time, as we are already facing rising operating costs and increased demand for services.

We encourage our supporters to continue contributing generously through online donations, phone donations, or in person. Every gift helps us to continue delivering our free programs to those in need. We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time. Your generosity makes a world of difference to both us and the communities we serve. Thank you for standing with the Centre for Family Literacy — together, we are transforming lives!
