Lois Hole Memorial Literacy Awards
The Lois Hole Memorial Literacy Awards were established in memory of Dr. Lois E. Hole, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta (2000 – 2005).
Mrs. Hole was a strong advocate for literacy. Whether reading to a lively group of children or making a passionate speech to leaders of our province or nation, Mrs. Hole championed literacy and education.
In keeping with Mrs. Holes passion, we present annual awards in three categories.
Adult Learner Award
Recognizes an outstanding individual in one of the Centre’s adult literacy programs who has shown commitment to their own learning.
Family Learner Award
Recognizes an outstanding individual or couple in one of the Centre’s family literacy programs who has shown dedication to their own learning and that of their children.
Community Leadership Award
Centre for Family Literacy’s Wine & Words Committee
Recognizes an outstanding individual, business or group whose efforts have helped improve Alberta’s literacy levels.
